Theme Decorating With Coaster Accessories
David Artsmith - Coasters are unique pieces of a room’s decor, because rather than standing static in a single place within the space, coasters are meant to be taken out and passed around the environment. In this way they can stretch out across the entire space like a web, having far more influence on the decorative nature of the space than their tiny size might indicate.
You can either help to create a theme, or even just reinforce and an existing theme using these handy little accessories. The use of novelty, or printed coasters, allows you to fill the space at will with your choice of graphic, color, image, and style. This makes drink coasters an extremely potent accessory in your decorating hand bag.
Beverage coasters are generally either stacked in a single row and placed somewhere convenient, or are placed carefully into a holder, which serves to keep them organized and all in one place. There are a lot of people who leave coasters out in general, like little canvases of function placed throughout a room, or the entire home. Choosing to keep your coasters centrally located may make things seem a bit more tidy, but by leaving them out when a party or event arrives, you ensure that people will actually think to use them.
When trying to create a theme in a space, every little detail counts. Coasters are the quintessential little details, tiny, innocuous, and yet highly functional, and spreading out across a space.
A beach theme could be created by purchasing sandstone coasters with beach scenes on them, or even just coasters that are naturally the same color and consistency of sand. If on the other hand you are going for something a little more classic, than the purchase of coasters printed with old newspaper articles, or magazines, or even with classic works of art may be a better choice for you.
You can almost certainly find a coaster for just about any theme that you want, they can usually be printed with just about anything you could want. All you have to do is keep your eyes open, and your mind free to explore the various possibilities.
