Endearing Pads Guide

Monday, May 10th, 2010

I often hear stories about individuals removing their rug and pad only to get the pad broken down into a layer of dust or marking their floor. This happens for a number of reasons, both of which can be quickly avoided. This allows prolong the life of one’s rug even though protecting the ground underneath. Once you could have all of this in place, make sure you attempt to occasionally rotate the rug and pad, sort of like “airing” elements out. This allows the pad sustain its ability to performance along with allowing you to view the flooring and make certain all is well.

If this is a rubber pad you seek, then make sure the rubber is usually a solid natural layer of rubber, not a sprayed on latex. The spray will not adhere nicely towards the pad and finally breaks off and transfers on your floor. If it is a thinner non slip pad you want, like a lot of out there with holes, then make certain it has an organic nature. Many of these are offered in a plastic or nylon form as well as the problem occurs when a spray is applied to this to give it a non slip function. Again, this spray is what causes destruction to floors and at some point wears off to ensure the pad will not offer a non slip performance anymore.

Besides having the proper rug pad, lifting your rug annually or rotating it once a year also assists steer clear of any possible destruction on your floors. At exactly the same time, it is possible to lift the pad and rotate that as well. Here it is feasible to examine to make certain nothing is happening to your floor.

There is relatively small care for excellent rug pads.

When you have suffered from excessive armpit sweat, you’ve likely attempted all sorts of remedies to fix the issue as the odor and wetness is annoying and embarrassing.

One suggestion should be to go out and get armpit sweat pads. I’ve attempted these myself on nice white dress shirts some of which came built into the shirt. It was important to block sweat on a white shirt and dress shirt as I didn’t want any one to see by way of and didn’t need to deal with those types of stains on nicer fabric.

How did these sweat pads hold up?

Some Decorating Hints To Use With Area Rugs

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

Your house is your castle and when it is time to decorate, or re-decorate it, you would like the design to match your way of life and exemplify who you are.  Decorating with persian rug is simple when you have the right rug and follow a few decorating tips, because when selected properly these rugs can add just the right touch to any room in your house.  The very first thing you’ll notice when it comes to rugs are the numerous different styles you can select from, so the most significant decorating tip would be to grasp your own style.  Does the room you are decorating have a large amount of dark wood and antiques in it?  If so , then your style is more old world than up to date.

Traditional area rugs,eg Persian or Oriental, work very well with stately or normal furnishings.  If you attempt to use bold patterns, geometric designs or bright colors, it may clash with the design flow of the room.  Latest rugs use these bold patterns to improve modern furnishings, allowing them to come to life.  Foot traffic is another decorating tip that you need to consider so that you will know whether you want a rug with a darker pattern to mask any dirt, or a lighter pattern if the traffic isn’t that much.

Size does matter, so you want to be certain to get a rug that fits the space.  If you have got a very large room, getting two smaller area rugs will often make the space look better than attempting to get only one massive rug.  Be certain that your measurements are accurate so that you aren’t getting a rug that’s’s too little or even too large for the space you need.  Remember that these rugs have three major uses : as accessories for the room, as a focal point for the room and for practical reasons.  Once you create the reason why you wish to have a rug in your room you’ll be ready to better establish the feel and look you are trying to achieve.

red braided rug

Accidents are common in many households in the United States, and even in other parts of the globe. One of the common types of these household accidents is sliding or slipping on floors that result to mild or serious injuries.

The group of persons who are at high risk or prone enough to meet this type of mishap are those that belong to a very young age or toddlers and kids, and those who are in an old age group. But anyone can meet this injury, especially when being extra careful inside the bathroom, in the kitchen, or when crossing a wet floor is not observed properly.

The best solution for this predicament at the household is to place area rugs on spots where there is a greater possibility of sliding or loosing balance to occur, especially on bathrooms or near a bathtub shower.

Area rugs are effective in holding a person in place, especially when balance control is interrupted. The frictional force between the rug and the floor is responsible for the hold phase. So instead of the person getting injured, his safety is secured.

But the right kind of the raw material it is made of when choosing area rugs should be considered as the top priority. There are those, which are made from poor quality of textile that instead of helping you stand in place causes added risk for injury.

There a variety of materials used for area rugs, but the best ones are made from wool. Wool has a greater frictional force that holds a person in place when balance is getting out of control. It even works for heavy persons.

There are also area rugs that are well braided and that give creases or uneven surface. These creases are responsible in keeping the person from sliding. Compared to a smooth textile, braided rugs are more effective for ambulation control.

Area rugs can also be use as decorative materials inside your home. These can be used as centerpieces on your living room floors, or it can add hue to your bedrooms. It comes in many different colors; others may have patterned lines and shapes.

In choosing which one fits your home makeover, it is best to consult experts on home arrangement and decorative art. It is also best if you will associate the designs and colors to your personality.

If you are more than a happy person, with lots of blissful vibes, and who is always on the go, you can opt for a brighter shade. Such as bright red, orange, yellow and yellow green colors. If you are quite reserved, you can have blue or darker shades of green. If you are more of a romantic person, red is simply the best.

You can also match it on the theme of the spot on your house. There are area rugs that are well crafted from native and indigenous materials, and these are perfect if you want to go oriental. Velvet designs are ideal if you want your area to look a little bit luxurious.

Just bear in mind that in purchasing the perfect area rug for your home, always consider first the safety it can give, then the beauty it can add to your home.

Antique Carpet – Wonderfully Designed Classic Floor Covering

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Beautifully designed antique carpets are as much pieces of art as they’re floor covering. These opulent rugs add panache to any home or office. Some antique carpets date back many millenia, combining functionality with wonderful creativity. They represent varied cultures thru history thru their colors and individual weaving. An antique carpet reflects a time gone by while telling its history. Hand woven antique carpets come in a massive spread or colors and designs. The women who created them wove their own symbolism and stories into each intricate pattern. Some carpets tell of matrimonial prospects. Others express the story of a particular area. All are loaded in color and magnificence.

Oriental rugs have been woven across a wide geographical region for many centuries. China, Turkey, Iran and India are some of cultures that have produced antique carpets as individual as the ladies who wove them. The beauty of a real oriental rug is that its quality will not diminish over a period of time.

Genuine antique carpets are usually more than one hundred years old and are wanted by collectors, historians and decorators. An antique rug is a voyage thru history, each distinct in its quality, design and size. The demand for high-quality antique carpets continues to expand as more folks consider them a profitable investment.

If you want to add color and beauty to your home or office, now’s the time to do so. An antique carpet is an object d’art built to bring pleasure and color into any one’s life. They come in numerous different sizes for any type room. These wonderful pieces are available in a wide price range, so there is an antique carpet for everyone.

A knowledgeable art or antique dealer can be of tremendous help in finding the proper antique carpet to accommodate your taste and budget. It’s an excellent idea {, however ,} to do a little analysis yourself. Learn how to tell a machine-made rug from a hand-woven one. Beware of stores with large liquidation sales or custom auctions. Adverts advertising these auctions can imply that these are government-run auctions. The reality is, the government does not run carpet auctions. Carpets impounded by customs are sent back to point of origin. They’re never auctioned off. Don’t get ripped off.

When purchasing an antique carpet, find out about its history and origin. Check to assure that it has maintained its quality and colors. Inspect the carpet for holes. Holes are a typical problem and can be handled before making your purchase. Any antique carpet for sale should have the ticket attached. A dealer who attempts to sell a carpet without a ticket will likely try and adjust the price upward if he senses you’re able and willing to pay.

Confirm your dealer has a good reputation. Once you are satisfied, get ready to make your purchase. You are sure to enjoy it for ages to come. One more thing make sure you use a good carpet cleaning company that has accomplished carpet cleaners if you need these beneficial carpets cleaned. There is nothing worse that spending good money for such a nice peace only to lose it to a stinking carpet cleaner. Good Luck from a Durham carpet cleaning company.

Rug Braiding

Area Rugs Serve Many Purposes

rug braidingWhilst rug braiding may be a declining art form, creating braided rugs is still a very valuable activity. A new area rug can be both a beautiful decorating accent and a practical solution to everyday home challenges.

A new area rug is an easy way to breathe some life into any room in your home. Besides the aesthetic aspect a new rug brings, they can also provide solutions to some basic challenges every home faces. And with the variety of materials, colors, patterns, shapes and sizes, there really is a perfect area rug for every situation and every decorating taste.

Most homes are set up so that a limited number of walking routes or paths are available from room to room, area to area. This, of course, lends itself to high traffic areas showing signs of wear much quicker than other, less trod on areas. These paths are always easy to spot in carpeted rooms, as they usually manifest themselves as matted down trails that eventually become discolored and impossible to clean, even professionally. Even hardwood flooring and tile can show signs of wear over time. Area rugs and rug runners are great for both covering these spots and preventing them from forming in the first place. Rug runners are ideal for frequently traveled hallways and walking lanes, while the variety of shapes and sizes of area rugs means there’s one out there to fit your area.

Of course, rug braiding provides a unique product that is more than just a band-aid. The right rug can do wonders by adding some color and a change of texture to flooring, including carpet. Breaking up the monotony of a sea of hardwood or tile is often a smart decorating choice, and larger area rugs are great for delineating areas of homes with open floor plans. So if your dining area blends right in with your living room, for example, a well placed rug can give the appearance of separation, and even allow for a change of color and decorating style.

Shopping for an area rug can be “mind bottling” (Blades of Glory reference, see it if you haven’t yet) with all the different styles and materials, both synthetic and natural. Certain materials can take the abuse of high traffic areas and are easily cleaned, while others are a little more delicate and made mostly for show. Proper Care of Braided Rugs

Monday, January 19th, 2009

braided rugSo, you are a proud owner of those beautiful braided rugs, are you?

You take extreme pride at showing them off to your friends, relatives and guests and all those who drop in at your place. Actually, even if you don’t have a visitor on a particular day, still you love to admire them and consider them an integral part of your concept of home.

The braided rugs are by nature long lasting and can take a lot of harsh treatment but you must not forget that they are made through braiding strips of cloth. So, you should take extreme care that no damage to the braiding is done. If you can protect the braiding, the rug would take care of the other attacks! In fact, the more pressure and trampling is done on these rugs, the flatter they become and the braiding gets even more dense. So, footsteps actually increase the life span of these braided rugs and carpets!

In recent days another property of these rugs has made them even more popular.

The fibers used today have the capacity to hide soil and dirt and reflect light. That is to say, the soil and dirt don’t show as starkly as they would on a hard floor. But this apparent absence of soil and dirt does not mean that it is not there. Moreover, dry soil has sharp edges, so if allowed to remain for a longer time within the rug the braiding fibers may get damaged and your rug may end up with a scruffy look.

Braided Rugs Care

So, you should ensure that your rugs are cleaned regularly and, more importantly, properly.

Make it a general practice to vacuum at least the upper side of your rugs at least twice a week. Your vacuum cleaner should have enough suction power to penetrate right up to the backing. Move the vacuum cleaner slowly and deliberately over the carpet quite a few times till you feel enough soil has been sucked out. That will remove a major part of the dust and loose soil which tends to get accumulated through repeated footfalls.

But you just can not avoid cleaning the rugs once in a while.

The first thing you shouldn’t do while cleaning the rugs is use a vacuum cleaner with rotating brushes (or beater bars, as they are more popularly known). These beater bars tend to pull at the braiding strings and leave your carpet with a scruffy look.

Use a gentle rug cleaner and the vacuum cleaner should shoot water inside the carpet so that the soap gets inside the fibers. Leave it like that for a few minutes and allow the cleaner to do its job of loosening the dirt. After that, keep dousing the carpet with large jets of water so that the soap is completely cleaned out. Take care that the rug is placed flat all the while you are cleaning it otherwise it will become crumpled and it will be impossible to remove those creases later.

After all the soap has been flushed out, leave the carpet to dry on that flat surface. You may have to turn it upside down quite a few times to ensure that it dries uniformly or else it will start emitting a sour smell when you lay it down once again. When you are sure that it is completely dry sling it over some sturdy bar or rod so that both sides of the carpet are aired properly.

If however you want to just spot clean your rug then all this hassle is not necessary.

Use a gentle rug cleaner and a piece of cloth (don’t use brushes, they may damage the braiding strings) and swipe the area clean.

White House Schedule – Obama’s First Day

Don’t expect that rug , which Bush crowed about, to stay there. It will be replaced as soon as the new decorator gets through. That rug and room needs fumigating. Obama, however looks good in the Oval office.

Obama Likes Bush’s Decor In The Oval Office

Excuse me, but Laura designed the rug and they had it custom made for the Oval. They are going to take it back to Texas probably for the library. In the meantime, I’m sure the Bams will be happy to decorate with a new one.

Obama in the Oval Office

For now, Obama is keeping Bush’s oval office decor, except for the paintings of Texas. Laura Bush designed the rug and Obama apparently loves it. (So does Bill Clinton.) I hope he eventually has the room redesigned, so he can put his touches to his office, including the rug.

The President’s Oval Rug

President Bush often likes to joke about his preparations for taking over leadership of the country included an assignment to pick a design for the Oval Office rug. He delegated the job to his wife and often boasts about the result.

Obama to keep Oval Office Rug

Obama to keep Oval Office rug, saying it really ties the room together.

"Ah! The important decisions."
