Outdoor-Inspired Bathroom Decor

When you are making over your bathroom you can build a beautiful space by using the great outdoors as inspiration. By keeping your space natural, you can incorporate all of the functions of your room into a single, seamless design. You can create any type of aesthetic that you wish for by incorporating elements of nature in the space. There are many different ways that you can pull nature into the room, and here are a few ideas to try.

Seashore
Everyone loves the beach, or at least they love the idea of the beach. To create a beach atmosphere in your bathroom, you can start by painting your walls a neutral, light color. The color can have a brown, blue, or gray undertone; all of these colors work with this theme. You can add handcrafted wall sculptures or a wallpaper border to your room, or you may even wish to stencil a border around your space in a seashell or seagull pattern.

You might also have enough detail that you are including in the accessories that dictate empty walls for your space. You can blend your towel rack with your walls, or you can lend some character with a seashell pattern. You can hang striped towels to remind you of beach towels and cabanas. Adding a wicker or canvas basket with extra, rolled towels continues the cabana aesthetic. You can bring in metal wall art in blues and greens, and you can use crisp white to trim the room. Add seashell framed mirrors and clear glass containers full of colorful seashells to complete the look of your seaside bathroom.

Hunting Lodge Atmosphere
The lodge look can bestow a rustic aesthetic to your bath. This theme is perfect for a man’s bathroom, and looks fabulous in dark colors like forest green. While you do not want to paint all of the walls such a dark color, you can choose a focal wall to paint a deep, forest green. You may prefer to add a chair rail to the space and simply paint the lower half of the wall in your forest green color. You may also prefer a neutral background for your lodge bathroom, and then you can use your bold color in the furnishings like the shower curtain, bathmat and towels. Add rustic wood accents and wooden pegs to use for towel holders. Then add some wildlife inspired artwork and even a basket of pinecones, and your rustic lodge bathroom is complete.

Garden
For a more feminine touch to your bathroom you can choose a garden theme. Whether that simply translates into floral patterns or creating the actual aesthetic of a garden is your choice. You can choose neutral colors for the wall either in shades of tan, or you may prefer pastel neutrals with a hint of green, yellow or pink. After deciding on your wall color, you can pick up the undertone of your paint color with your accents. You might choose a burst of florals with a floral shower curtain, or you may just prefer to continue with a pastel motif to create a more organic feel in the room, like a spa. Then you can add a large vase of fresh cut flowers to your room. You can finish off this room with clean, white trim and some polished contemporary abstract wall art, and your garden bathroom is ready to pamper.
