Use Placemats or a Tablecloth on the Dining Room Table

Adding placemats or a tablecloth to a dining room table is one of the easiest ways to add instant style. Though some placemats and tablecloths can be a bit on the expensive side, you can find some nice inexpensive pieces at department stores or discount stores. If you want to save some extra money, you can always buy some fabric and use your sewing machine to make your own placemats or tablecloths.

The fabric that you decide on for the dining room table will be the determining factor for the table’s style. If you’re going for clean and simple, plain colored fabric is perfect; however, you can go with patterns and designs if yo only plan on using placemats or the tablecloth for the table.

Utilize the China You Already Have

Don’t simply store your good china in a kitchen cabinet or hutch, instead put it on display using your dining room table. Lay out the china settings in order to add interest to the table. Since the good set of china is already out, you don’t need to spend any money on getting new china for the dining room table.
